Description

Circa 1860. A George II style mahogany lowboy. The solid top in well figured mahogany with shaped re-entrant corners. The front has a long drawer with cast brass swan neck handles and a shaped apron. Unusually the shaped apron is also on the back which is polished making the lowboy free-standing. The peg joints on the uprights are visible and stylish. The table rests on four elegant cabriole legs with quarter blocks with extended ā€˜C’ scrolls to the insides, carved shell on the knee and finishing on a realistic animal foot.
