Description

Circa 1820, rare pair of early 19th century giltwood and gesso oval girandole mirrors. Surmounted by a foliate crest with griffin and garland decorations, the moulded frame is surrounding the bevelled mirrors with rosettes and floral chain decorations at sides. The base has neoclassical foliate decorations, and a three-branch candelabra on carved acanthus decorated supports. The back has a (later) retailer label of Jones and Higgins Limited, Peckham.
