Teak and Brass Bound Ships Wheel

Description
Circa 1900, good teak and brass bound ships wheel with 8 spokes and 8 turned handles. The large turning sections are rounded and tapering. The main bezel of the wheel has various mouldings and on one side there is a brass section which has been riveted to it to make it sturdy. As the spokes meet the centre of the wheel there is a large circular bezel with a brass cap. At the back there is an opening where this would have been fixed to the ship itself. The wheel is good size, recently re-polished and very sturdy.Size 138cm diameter.
