Description

Circa 1890, wonderful French red tortoiseshell and ormolu mounted mantel clock. The clock has both Roman and Arabic numerals, and has the name A.Barry & Son Paris. The face is cast brass and has numerals in black and a lovely blue painted onto porcelain. The hands are tempered steel. The case itself is tortoiseshell and this is enhanced with Rococo style ormolu mounts. The back is ebonised with a large brass door opening to reveal the movement which is stamped with a makers name. The clock strikes on a coil gong. Excellent condition.

Size 44cm high x 26cm wide x 13cm deep.
