Description

A Georgian elm clerks desk, the lifting writing sloping enclosing a fitted interior of pigeonholes and four small drawers, set above a single long drawer with brass swan-neck handles, all raised on slender square legs.

A useful late Georgian writing desk of compact proportions, made for correspondence and paperwork storage. The carcass is reinforced with wonderful small period hand-forged iron braces to the front edges of the sides.

Very good antique condition with lots of attractive surface wear and a strong patina consistent with age and use. Structurally sound, clean and ready to place in the home.
