Description

An impressive late Victorian richly carved oak library table of good scale. The rectangular top with carved border sits above an extensively carved frieze with two drawers, all raised on barley twist legs united by a turned stretcher base with central finial.

A particularly decorative piece, in the Jacobean Revival taste, it would serve well as a writing table or as a console in a hall or living space, but also suitable for central placement being fully finished and carved on all sides.

Very good antique condition with light surface wear consistent with age. The top has been securely re-fixed at some point using later screws, and the table remains structurally sound, clean and ready to place.
