1770s Silver Mounted French Hunting Dirk
Often used later by French Naval Officers during Napoleonic Wars.
Silver quillon marked for Paris 1772-1773.
The blade inscribed: BIDAULT (swordsmith to Dauphine Royal,Paris).
Also decorated with engraved wild boar on one side and a stag on the other.
Carved horn grip, metal pommel.
Very good condition, age crack to horn grip.
