2 Serving spoons, Dorothy Langlands Newcastle1804
Description
These spoons made by Dorothy Langlands are hallmarked for Newcastle 1804. This was the first year that she had her own mark following the death of her husband, John Langlands the same year. He was a prominent and well respected silversmith, and the high standard was continued by Dorothy until her death in 1814.She had her silversmith works in Dean Street in Newcastle, fairly near to the centre of the city.
These have the initials IM on the handle, in crisp and clear lettering.
Although the spoons have been used and have the signs of age to them, the tips are hardly worn, in fact they look unworn as I have shown in the photographs.
They are 8.75 inches or 22cms long.
They weigh an impressive 165 grams.
UK signed for postage included in the price.
