Description

An octagonal childs plate with a rope and daisy border. The picture and text are all printed in sepia. The scene is of a huntsman riding a rather grand horse and being accompanied by his dog. The huntsman is resplendant in top hat and tails.

The scene reads "The huntsman is having a capital run and the dog seems determined to join in the fun".

The plate dates from circa 1860 and were gifts to children.

This plate is in very good condition considering its age and that children will have handled it. I assume it was part of a strict household. There is one very small chip to a point on the reverse of the plate, and it cannot be seen from the front.

The plate measures 6 inches or 25cms across.
