Ireland, c1820. Period of George IV.

Condition

Excellent, age-related wear as shown. A few of the cuts have minor grazing as expected.

Height: 5cm Diameter: 9.3cm from handle to handle.

Technical Description

Glass piggins, usually used for ladling milk were made in fairly large numbers in Ireland. Piggins are often found with a single handle, however, examples with two are very rare.

Historical Relevance

Hand-made around the time The world's first traffic lights were installed in Parliament Square in London in 1868.
