Silver & Mother of Pearl, Edwardian combination set of
Fruit Knife & Fork
Hallmarked for Sheffield 1906 - date letter - n
The maker`s mark - W.N for William Needham,
Jessop Street, Sheffield.
A superb, large fruit knife & fork set in, absolutely, unused condition.
Both the blade and tines open and close correctly - snapping into position at 180 degrees,90 degrees, and closed.
Plain, tapering Mother of Pearl scales to both pieces. A silver, vacant cartouche on the knife.
The two pieces lock together in both the closed and open position. To separate the two, the knife blade needs to be placed in the 90 degree position, than the two pieces can be slid apart. Together, they are held with bayonet fittings, like a light bulb - see picture 5.
Excellent hallmarks and clean deep thumb nail groove.
Unused condition. Absolutely no faults. 119 years old.

Knife open length:- 148 millimetres.
Closed length:- 84 mms.
Knife & fork weight:- 57.7 grams.
