Silver & Mother of Pearl, mid-Victorian Fruit Knife
Hallmarked for Sheffield 1873 - date letter - F
The maker`s mark - JYC for John Yeomans Cowlishaw
Market Street, Sheffield.
A very good, large fruit knife in very near original condition.
The blade opens and closes correctly - snaps at 180 degrees,90 degrees, and snaps closed. It doesn`t need any work - it`s great and ready to go.

Attractive shaped Mother of Pearl scales to both sides, and with silver hinge facings.. A silver, rectangular, vacant cartouche in the centre of the MoP.
Excellent hallmarks and clean deep thumb nail groove.

Superb unused condition, throughout. 152 years old.

Open length:- 153 millimetres.
Closed length:- 85 mms.
Knife weight:- 28.9 grams.
