An Early Chinese Decorated Spice Barrel

A lovely piece, the decoration has seen some losses, this has been stabilised to stop any further deterioration
The barrel is made in wood and has a delightful shape, the lid is deeply carved and painted, the decoration to the sides is in lacquer and gesso, showing Samurai and the faces of dragons forming the handles
Send now but with ancient losses the barrel is 15” high and 15” in diameter
