A Late c.17th Provincial Oak Press Cupboard

Measuring approximately 54" x 61" x 20 1/2" (width, height, depth)

A rare, one piece cupboard with good colour and patination attributed to the Lancashire region, c.1680. (ex Michael Goldstone, Bakewell)

The primitive plank top above a lunette carved frieze with inverted acorn finials to either side. The central upper cupboard panel decorated with a guilloche quatrefoil knot of wrythen whorls flanked by cupboard doors retaining iron butterfly hinges and enriched by central flower heads set in run moulded frames.
The larger lower cupboard having central door also hung on early iron butterfly hinges and quartered by run moulded frame and wrythen whorls to upper panels.
All cupboard doors working locks and there is one key.
Interior and backboards all appear to be original.
