L'Écorché by Jean-Antoine Houdon is a famous 18th-century anatomical sculpture of a man with his skin removed to reveal the musculature, created in Rome around 1767, serving as a pivotal study for artists demonstrating classical realism and anatomical precision, and becoming a standard training figure in art schools for centuries.
