19th Century Black Forest Carved Crucifix with Corpus Christi, Vine Leaves & Grapes

Large elaborately hand carved wall hanging Black Forest crucifix with corpus christi, vine leaves & grapes C. 1890 - 1900.

Limewood & stained dark carving. Corpus Christi in the three-nail type on the cross, with crown of thorns and loincloth. Cross beam with rich & elaborate carving of vine leaves and grapes, with INRI plate.

Unusual piece and very decorative.

Very good condition.

Hook on the reverse for wall hanging.

H: 75cm x W: 36.5 cm x D: 7cm.
