A wonderful bronze plaque by renown sculptor Herbert Tyson Smith (1883–1972) .

He decorated many war memorials and buildings in Liverpool, Lancashire and Cheshire. There are examples of his work in both the Museum of Liverpool and the Lady Lever Art Gallery
A Fellow of Royal Society of British Sculptors.

This example of his work is profile portrait of Edith Mary Saunders, she was the artist wife, Saunders was her maiden name, they were married in 1909 so this could have been a love token. It is monogrammed to the right hand side and dated 08

Condition lovely original nut brown patina with a slight verdigris to the edge of the silhouette
