The base wood is solid and is veneered in book paged Walnut and raised on a Macassar ebony protruding plinth which gives a warm honey overall tone with beautiful figuring throughout. This desk can sit centre stage, it's front has open adjustable shelving for books or ornaments. One of the rear cupboards houses a bank of sliding internal drawers, the other is open shelving. All locks are functional and comes with one original key. Solid brass long strip hinges. The attention to detail is superb from the timbers to the craftsmanship.
