Description

In the rare machine age style this Art Deco beauty is completely authentic, dating to the 1930's and manufactured by the English clock makers 'smiths'. The chrome is in very good condition, not perfect but certainly above average, free from pitting or heavy tarnishing. The black accents are solid brass, and overall makes the clock deceptively heavy given it's size.
There's an AC wave under the 12 o'clock rotates as the clock runs and so lets you know the clock is running, being electric the movement it is completely silent. A synchronous mains movement relies on a 50 Hz AC current for accuracy in time of peak demand this frequency may drop slightly but the National Grid will step it up so that it always averages 50 Hz over a day. The variation is so slight you won't notice it so this clock is consequently very accurate in it's time keeping accuracy.
