This is one of 4 prints created in 1927 using a Pochoir technique ( use of a stencil to create the black outline, then hand colouring with watercolour). The painting is from a set of 4 prints called the “Quatre Proverbs” published in 1927 for a French magazine, this was an open print run. The pictures depicted emancipated women looking after themselves. This picture roughly translates as “Sometimes we all need a little help from someone not so great as ourselves”.
