Description

A fine quality Victorian coromandel jewellery box by Mappin Brothers of London Bridge & Regent Street, London. The well chosen veneers highlighted with fine brass stringing, the top with a central engraved brass shield-shaped cartouche, the front with matching keyhole escutcheon.

The box opens to reveal a re-lined interior, the black cotton moire complimenting the plush stone grey velvet. The lift-out tray reveals a further storage area beneath. To the rear of the box a brass button releases the front drawer, similarly re-lined.

With working lock & tassled key.
