Description

#062

We were told this beautiful old and chunky piece of English oak was most likely from the side of a retired Victorian church pew. It was found in Totnes, Devon, England.

It features thickly carved wooden embellishments such as a flower, stem and 2 scroll leaves, a running trim, and 2 beautiful corner edge carvings. The reverse has "No. 1" handwritten on it, in old period ink or paint handwriting. It was apparently once part of a mural or decorative element.

This treen piece is a rich old piece of English oak. We recently oiled it with olive oil (organic, of course!), as it was dirty and dark, the result is a beautifully rich old piece, ready to hang or sit on a shelf.
