#AD089: English Antique Treen Snuff Box

A stunning early wooden hand painted British painted folk art snuffbox from the circa 1800 Georgian era, pre Victorian. The treen box depicts a dreamy painting of a woman standing at an open window, a fresh red apple in hand. It is ethereal and actually quite Emily Bronte - ish.

Condition is beautiful, period wear to box edges, minor scrapes and wear, displays beautifully and with an amazing period patina, as seen in close up images. Click images to see condition in very close up and movable views. The box has a strong early metal hinge along the complete inside edge, very well crafted and of high quality. It was found in Totnes, Devon, England.
