Description

An impressive Gothic Revival oak cabinet, dating from the late 19th century. Made from solid quarter-sawn oak with rich, warm finish and patina. The upper section features a pair of panelled doors with distinctive Gothic tracery detailing, opening to reveal spacious shelving for storage or display. Below sits two drawers over a pair of panelled cupboard doors, all fitted with original brass ring handles. The cabinet is framed with recessed panels and finished with a deeply moulded cornice, featuring carved fretwork and rope-twist detail. A fine example of the design influence of the late Victorian Gothic Revival movement.
