Description

This French 19th century silver and niello combination vesta case, cheroot cutter with striker plus a hinged side compartment, probably a toothpick holder would grace the waistcoat pocket of any gentleman. All three sections are hinged and fit snugly. The body of the piece is decorated with a geometric niello pattern which shows traces of gilding. All compartments are gilded internally. The box has French Minerva 2 .800 gauge silver marks and an unknown makers mark. It is 6.3cm in length. Its overall condition is excellent.
