Description

A fine and rare large 18th century Chinese bronze bowl, c1780. Most probably a ritualistic food vessel used for making offerings of grain and vegetables this is a rare survivor. The bowl is heavy (2.6kg) and deep, beautifully cast and decorated with scrolling archaistic dragons and stylised foo dog handles. It has character marks on the inside of the base. Overall condition is good and in line with age and use. There are very small chips to the rim and base and signs of rubbing and use, all minor and exactly as you would expect from an old example.
