Fine early 20th century African Benin bronze ceremonial pot/container, c1920.This is a quality example which would have been a prestige piece belonging to someone of high rank. The main body is decorated with 4 standing warrior figures and the lip has 3 busts around the rim. Each figure has been individually cast and the detail is different for each. The bronze has taken on great colour/patina following years of handling and use. Overall condition is good with no defects, and this would be a fine addition to any collection of tribal art or as a standalone decorative piece.
