Description

Two 19th century GWR carriage lamps, c1880. Great examples of Railwayana they would have adorned railway carriages in the mid to late 19th century. Both are clearly marked GWR (Great Western Railway) and are beautifully made in brass with copper embellishments. The glass looks to be original with bevelled edges on the larger lamp and a convex glass panel on the other. The larger lamp has its original oil burner. Both are highly decorative and in good original antique condition. There are very minor surface marks, small dents and a tiny chip to the corner of one glass panel, exactly as you would expect from examples of this age. Please refer to the detailed photographs and free to contact me if you would like to view the items or have any questions.
