Description

Antique early 20th century Russian bronze/brass bust, c 1920. It is nicely cast and a good weight for its size (1.3 kg). I think it is brass or similar metal which has been patinated to give it a bronze effect rather than solid bronze. It stands on an onyx base and there is Cyrillic script on the front lower section of the bust.The colour/patina is nice following years of use. Overall condition is good with only minor surface wear/rubbing . One eye socket in particular has rubbed and the detail has faded (or possibly this was a casting fault?). There are flecks of red paint which could be easily removed but I have left them as they are part of its history.
