Description

A fine quality antique 18th Century oak bible box on a later (probably 19th Century) stand, c1760. The box has very nice diamond-shaped inlay to the front frieze, plus 'pie crust' edging. The stand has lovely bobbin turned supports.

The lock appears to be original, but the hinges look to have been replaced, probably in the 19th century. This is not unusual in a piece of this age. The colour/patination is good, as you would expect from a period piece, and there are no significant losses or defects.
