Description

This is a very beautiful and early afshar weaving dating to the third quarter of the 19th century (1850-75). Has this striking royal blue coloured ground with four shrub-like crowned devices. This is a documented pattern seen in the last few images that example being on an ivory coloured ground. I have seen two others in the past both being on ivory coloured grounds. Has all over even pile. Sides good and ends are even and stopped. It is a scarce collectors example of afshar weaving and would look equally good hung from a wall. 4 foot 9 inches by 3 foot 11 inches. 145cm x 120cm. At widest points. Fine wool fringes not measured in size. Price £3450 gbp. Bank transfers, viewings, discussions, etc, all welcomed. Now selling reasonably priced rugs and carpets. Tak 65
