Antique Turkish Bergama Carpet. West Anatolia.First Quarter 20th Century.
A superb west anatolian village woven carpet of traditional design incorporating elements from earlier 15th century holbein carpets.
The ground colour is of a brick red. Many more images of this carpet on my website under the heading country house carpets.
Even pile with all ends and sides secure.
size is 10 foot 7 inches by 6 foot 7 inches. 323cm x 200cm. At widest points. All woollen construction with salmon coloured weft threads.
