Description
European carved wooden head of the Madonna/Virgin Mary and recently out of a private collection. I imagine this was originally attached to a large floor standing figure and dates circa 1400- 1500s. I can't be sure of the wood but appears quite light in colour, an age old split is evident but doesn't distract from this rare display piece. Size of head - 22cm x 13.5cm.
