Description
A very nice and scarce bronze apothecary mortar for the mixing of substances in the preparation of medicines. Latin inscription around the top edge - VITA MORS meaning Life and Death or Death is Life.Dating early 1700s and in nice condition for its age, there is a pestle with it but it is a later addition.
Height 8cm x 8.4cm across the top diameter.
