Description

A Tomotom Dining table and four chairs,Designed by Bernard Holdaway and manufactured by Hull Traders, tomotom was a range of Pop Art furniture based entirely on a circular theme – cylinders, discs and spheres.

The range was constructed from cardboard, cut from heavy duty, large scale tubes used in industry and finished in tough enamel spray paint the hard finish meant tomotom could be used in commercial settings. such as hotels and schools

Cheap stylish and fun the collection struck a chord with the young, fashion conscious families of the late sixties and established itself as an instant Pop classic.George Best chose tomotom furniture when he opened his Manchester boutique in 1967.

The short intended lifespan was a key part of the design philosophy “The whole concept of people buying things to last a lifetime has ended” declared Holdaway.

In worn used condition they still have their original enamel finish which is chipped and worn, Cushions are also missing.

Price show is for suite in its current condition, if required I can re-spray in a suitable finish for Extra cost.I can also have cushions made.
