Here we have a rare Victorian taxidermy trout by Frederick William Anstiss c1894. The trout is in a beautiful naturalistic setting and of course is of the highest quality being by Anstiss. There is a newspaper cutting to the inside and a label for Anstiss. On the rear there is a label for The Flyfishers Club and it was suggested that this was in the Fly Fishers Club in Mayfair London by the seller which makes sense. A super example that even has the fly the fish was caught on in its mouth. Condition is excellent. The dimensions are approx 68 cm wide 15 cm deep 32 cm high.
