An excellent George III Mahogany Bureau Bookcase, showing stunning depth and patination.

The 13 pane astragal glazed double door upper section, is situated over a writing bureau lower section, with a fall opening to reveal an attractive array of strung drawers and pigeon holes, including two elaborately simulated book slides. The fall is clad in a rich green leather hide to create a wonderful writing surface, and is locked and unlocked with a single turn key.

The whole structure is sat over 4 shaped feet, and the handles are of a slightly later period. Overall, a magnificent addition to a study or sitting room.
