Description

This is a very rare and unusual late Victorian or Edwardian shop window display.
Farther Xmas riding a reindeer which rocks back and forth on a stand with a very heavy pendulum-type weight which keeps it going for some time.
The reindeer's head moves up and down and farther Xmas head and arms move with the rocking.
I have been told it was in a shop in Alnwick Northumberland and used up to the 1960s then stored in the basement until recently.
I can send you a video of it working if you're VERY interested.
It is big standing at 6 feet 6 inches tall and 3 feet 8 inches wide.
I have not done anything to clean it just as exactly as I bought it
The price is £1500 and I'm not interested in offers for anything less.
The pictures show the tail as green but it is white, when I put background colour in to show it better in changed the tail colour !!.
I think is circa 1900 to 1920.
It is all metal apart from the reins.
