Description
SUPERB early 13 1/2" long cast Scottish panel plane. The shape of the casting is really nice with rounded chamfered edges. Gunmetal lever cap with over-stuffed walnut or mahogany infill including large enclosed rear handle with long spur, Good length blade by Robert Sorby of Sheffield. Curved rear. The handle spur has been broken off and re-glued otherwise this is in pretty good condition for age. Definitely a 19th century example. Heavy, good mouth.Price includes UK postage.
