Description

Very unusual, first class quality mid 19th century solid mahogany stationery box, possibly American. This is a top quality piece of small furniture which is a very unusual mixture of styles which suggests to me that this originated from America.

Lift up top with divisions inside, roll top front with a seperate solid mahogany writing slope inside with original ink well and lift up top.

Above the roll top there is a section of three nicely moulded lift off lids with storage sections beneath. The moulded square pillars to the front and the curved reeded moulded edge above are particularly nice.

The back of the box has show dovetails which are un-believable fine. Has the original locks and keys.

SIZE 15" long by 16 1/2" wide by 12 1/2" high

I've never seen anything quite like it. SUPERB !!
