Description

Good early 19th century Scottish 8 day oak cased longcase clock by ROBERT WARDEN of ABERDEEN. The oak case is in very good condition with all the original brass decoration, original plinth base and original woking lock and key to the door. The case has reeded quarter columns to the trunk with matching reeded columns to the hood. The clock movement is all original and has been recently fully serviced, the dial has all its original painted decoration. Most unusually the clock strikes a lesser ding to the bell on the half hour. The bell has two hammers, a normal one to the right which strikes the hours and a smaller hammer to the left which strikes on the half hour. The case is a lovely colour with good patination and a waxed finish.

The clock case has an old replacement back.

SIZE 82" high. 18" wide. 9" deep.
