Description

Good early 19th century Scottish mahogany cased 8 day longcase clock by SAM RITCHIE of FORFAR. This is a lovely size east coast clock in very good original condition. The case has been made from the very best of mahogany with super grain pattern. The base of the clock has the original swept out bracket feet. The case has quarter round reeded columns with matching reeded columns to the hood. The hood with swan neck top, all original brass ware and inlaid panels of satin birch. The case is a gorgeous original colour and patination. The door lock is a replacement.

The early painted dial is of simple design as with all early painted dial examples. The clock has been recently fully serviced and as such is in perfect working order.

A very nice and neat Scottish east coast 8 day longcase that would grace any house.
