Description
This is a wonderful example of MacFarlane, Lang "Yule Log" offered for Christmas 1910. Lithographed and embossed to simulate bark with the cut-off sections of branches showing (according to the 1910 catalogue) 'the felling of the tree', 'the home-bringing", and 'the joyous Christmastide welcome'. The hatchet top is used as a handle for the pull-off lid.Some repair to the axe handle on the lid and minor paint flaking. It measures 5 1/4 inches tall x 5 1/14 diameter.Date1910s
