A wonderful Victorian firescreen of exhibition quality. The frame is made from a very high grade of solid walnut , now with a warm, rich, colour and patina. With ornately carved scrolling decoration of the finest quality. This firescreen is of very large proportions (see photo alongside man for scale), and must have been originally commissioned for a very substantial residence. The tapestry wool-work insert is also of fine quality and in excellent order. It is set behind a protective glass and is backed to the reverse with deep red material.
This stunning firescreen is the best I have ever seen and is offered for sale in excellent original condition. It is a real statement piece.
