Description

Here we have a striking Chinese Silver Lidded Bowl from the interwar years. The bowl stands on three legs with paw feet and has ring handles on each side held in the mouths of Dogs of Fo or Lion Dogs. The body of the bowl is beautifully engraved with flowers, butterflies and a crab, a Chinese symbol of wealth and good luck, particularly around the New Year. The lid also has butterfly and flower engraving.

As with most Chinese silver, there are no marks of any kind as this is not a legal requirement in China.

Condition is extremely good, with no dings or dents and just the superficial surface wear that you would expect after many years of good service. Please make sure to view all the photographs.

The bowl is 10.5cm / 4.1ins across from handle to handle and stands 12cm / 4.7ins high to the top of the finial. It weighs a substantial 184g / 6.5oz.

Shipping in the UK is £10 by Royal Mail Special Delivery, which includes cover for the value of the bowl.
Overseas customers, please ask us about shipping costs to your country before making a purchase.
