Description

This is a good quality Vintage Silver Plated Fruit Basket dating to between the 1930s and 1950s. The basket has a low pedestal base, a round body with pierced sides and a swing handle with line and shell decoration.

The fruit basket is made in Birmingham by Sanders & Blackband, a firm of specialist electroplaters who were active from the 1930s through to the 1960s.

Condition is very good with no dings or dents and no significant plate loss. The swing handle moves smoothly and stays upright when desired. Please make sure to view all the photographs.

The fruit basket is 22cm / 8.7ins in diameter and 19cm / 7.5ins high with the handle in the vertical position. It weighs 451g / 15.9oz.

The underside of the base is marked S & B for Sanders & Blackband and EPNS A1 for the best quality silver plate.
