6 x Edwardian Silver Teaspoons, Walker & Hall 1908
Description
This is a good quality cased set of six Edwardian Sterling Silver Teaspoons in the popular Albany pattern. The spoons are double struck, so the pattern is on both sides. There are no initials or personalisation of any kind. The teaspoons are made by world famous silversmiths Walker & Hall in Sheffield and date to 1908. Originally produced in the 1880s, the Albany pattern was at the height of its popularity in the Edwardian era and remains popular with collectors today.
Condition is very good with no dings or dents and just the superficial surface wear that you would expect after over 110 years of good service. The box is a little scuffed on the outside but the hinges and clasp are all in full working order. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
Each spoon is 10.4cm / 4.1ins long and the set of six together weighs in at a very respectable 71.9g / 2.5oz of solid Sterling Silver.
The hallmarks on the underside of the stems are well struck and clear to read, even though they are within the patterned section. They show the lion passant for Sterling Silver, the crown assay mark for Sheffield, the date letter q for 1908 and the distinctive W & H in a pennant makers' mark for Walker & Hall.
Shipping in the UK is £10 by Royal Mail Special Delivery, which includes cover for the value of the spoons.
Overseas customers, please ask us about shipping costs to your country before making a purchase.
