Description

Here we have a striking Edwardian tall Cut Glass Perfume Bottle with a Sterling Silver collar. The perfume bottle is conical in shape with a star cut base and hobnail cut body which rises to a long slender neck encased in a silver collar. The stopper is diamond cut and catches the light beautifully.

The perfume bottle is made by highly regarded silversmiths Adie & Lovekin in Birmingham and dates to 1901. Founded in the late 1870s in Birmingham's famous Jewellery Quarter, Adie & Lovekin produced a wide range of silver items of consistently high quality and remained in business up until the late 1920s.

Condition is very good with no chips or cracks in the glass and just the superficial surface wear to the silver that you would expect after 120 years of use. Please make sure to view all the photographs.

The perfume bottle stands 19cm / 7.5ins tall and is 7.8cm / 3.1ins in diameter across the base. It weighs 288.9g / 10.2oz.

The hallmarks on the silver collar are somewhat rubbed but still possible to read. They show the lion passant for Sterling Silver, the anchor assay mark for Birmingham, the date letter b for 1901 and the A & L Ld makers' mark for Adie & Lovekin Ltd.

Shipping in the UK is £10 by Royal Mail Special Delivery, which includes cover for the value of the perfume bottle.
