Description

Here we have a good quality cased set of 12 George V Sterling Silver Coffee Spoons in the Queen Anne pattern. The attractive Queen Anne pattern, first introduced in the late 19th century, features a cascading flower at the top of the stem, which these coffee spoons have struck on both sides. There are no initials or personalisation of any kind. The majority of tea and coffee spoon sets have six spoons, so it is always nice to find a set of 12.

The spoons are made in Sheffield by the famous silversmiths Walker & Hall and date to 1927. They come in their original fitted case which is also branded with Walker & Hall on the satin lining of the lid.

Condition is extremely good, with no dings or dents and just the most minimal of superficial surface wear. These spoonsa have either been very well looked after or not seen very much use for the last 94 years. The case is a little scuffed, with a small section of the thin leather covering lifting a little on one side edge. The hinges and clasp are in good working order. Please make sure to view all the photographs.

The coffee spoons are each 9.3cm / 3.6ins long and the set of 12, unboxed, weighs in at a substantial 110.8g / 3.9oz of solid Sterling Silver.

The hallmarks, on the undersides of the stems, are well struck and clear to read. They show the lion passant for Sterling Silver, the crown assay mark for Sheffield, the date letter k for 1927 and the W & H makers' mark for Walker & Hall.

Shipping in the UK is £10 by Royal Mail Special Delivery, which includes cover for the value of the spoons.
