Description

Here we have a high quality George V Sterling Silver Teaspoon with a golfing theme. The stem of the spoon is shaped as a pair of back to back golf clubs, wrapped with a ribbon or thong, with a golf ball as the finial.

This is a well made teaspoon in a good gauge of silver J.A. Restall & Co of Birmingham and dates to 1932. J.A. Restall & Co (later J.A. Restall Ltd) were in business from the 1890s to the 1940s and are best known for their silver items with a sporting connection.

Condition is very good with no dings, dents or damage and only the superficial surface wear that you would expect after nearly 90 years of good service. Please make sure to view all the photographs.

The spoon is 11.5cm / 4.5ins long and weighs a very respectable 17.1g / 0.6oz of solid Sterling Silver.

The hallmarks on the underside of the bowl are well struck and clear to read. They show the lion passant for Sterling Silver, the anchor assay mark for Birmingham, the date letter H for 1932 and the J.A.R makers' mark for J.A. Restall & Co.
